The NHSS Wellness Manager is responsible for the management of all wellness programs, community outreach and harm reduction programs. This position operates from a holistic perspective and directs the team in developing programs to assist members in attaining and maintaining the highest level of well-being possible. The Wellness Manager works collaboratively with other staff members and stakeholders within the community to carry out all assignments in a respectful and culturally appropriate manner. In this position respecting confidentiality is key; tact and discretion must be exercised in all interactions with others.

TERM position The Nlaka’pamux Community Health Liaison position with Nlaka’pamux Health Services Society is a full-time contract position supporting twelve of the Nlaka’pamux Communities. The Nlaka’pamux Community Health Liaison uses a holistic wellness approach in providing advocacy and support to community members for accessing health and wellness programs that are culturally safe. The Nlaka’pamux Community Health Liaison role assists Health Services and NHSS through effective engagement with community members, and health partners including the First Nations Health Authority and Interior Health Authority (IHA). In addition, they use their local knowledge and context about the community, family units, structures, and processes in the region to ensure that needs arising from the COVID‐19 pandemic are being addressed in a manner that is relevant to the community context and include mitigation measures, community preparedness and response capacity.

Permanent Full-Time As part of the Nlaka‛pamux Nation Mental Health Team, the Mental Health and Addiction Counsellor is responsible for providing confidential mental health and addiction counselling, education and support to individuals and families within the Nlaka’pamux Nation. This position operates from a holistic and trauma-informed perspective, is sensitive to the Nlaka’pamux tradition and culture, and provides services required to assist community members in attaining and maintaining the highest level of wellness possible. This is a demographic-specific posting, priority will be given to Indigenous applicants with a degree in counselling psychology or human services related field. Salary to commensurate with experience; benefit package offered.
