Child & Youth Mental Health Counsellor
The Opportunity
Nlaka’pamux Health Services Society is seeking a Child & Youth Mental Health Counsellor to deliver developmentally appropriate, trauma‑informed counselling and group programs for children and youth, with family engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include intake, assessment, treatment planning, crisis/safety planning, case coordination, and documentation. We are looking for a counsellor who enjoys working alongside children, youth, and families to build resilience. Help us deliver child/youth counselling and culturally grounded group programming.
Qualifications
- Master’s in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or related (preferred); Bachelor’s with experience considered
- Eligible for/registered with a relevant professional body
- Experience with Child/Youth counselling, crisis/safety planning, and family engagement
- Knowledge of Indigenous contexts, intergenerational trauma, and protective factors
- Class 5 BC licence; travel within the Nation as needed
